Memories

It’s always facinating to hear our returning guests share their stories and memories of the Timber Cove Inn. We take a special delight in hearing about the romantic vacations taken 20 years ago, proposals by the fireplace and honeymoons all of which happend on this very spot. Although there is no formal written history about the Timber Cove Inn we feel that these memories and stories shared by our guests are just as meaningful to the lore and what makes our hotel one of the most romantic places on the Sonoma Coast.

If anyone out there has special photos or memories of the Timber Cove Inn that they would like to share please contact us at infor@TimberCoveInn.com

Speaking of memories…this past weekend  we were delighted to have as our guest Richard Clements Jr son of the orginal designer and proprietor of the Timber Cove Inn.

Along with his stories of growing up at the inn, Richard was gracious enough to bring a copy of his family scrapbook that contained articles and photos and offered a glimpse into  the past.

Russians on the Sonoma Coast – Part 2

We wanted to share some photographs from last week’s event at Fort Ross State Historic Park –East Meets West Spring Meets Summer.  There was much respect and camaraderie amongst the State Park Staff and volunteers as they honored the efforts of Consul General Vladimir Vinokurov in keeping Fort Ross open during this tough economy.

California’s State Parks are becoming endangered with nearly 45 percent proposed for closure. Dedicated State Park Staff and volunteers are working tirelessly to keep this valuable piece of Northern California’s history open to all of us.

Russians on the Sonoma Coast

For history buffs and the curious, Fort Ross State Historic Park will be presenting East Meets West – Spring Meets Summer on Saturday May 21st from 10:00am to 4:30pm.

The Sonoma Coast has a special relationship with Russia by way of Fort Ross.  In 1812 Russian and Alaskan explorers and traders established Fort Ross as Russia’s southernmost outpost and very nearly changed the course of history for the state of California.

This Saturday’s event will feature a special presentation for the current Russian Consular General of the Russian Embassy. Costumed volunteers will perform traditional Russian songs and dances. Visitors will also have the opportunity to talk to park interpreters and scholars about the history of Fort Ross and relations between Russia and the North Pacific both past and present.

Fort Ross State Historic Park is located just five miles south of the Timber Cove Inn and offers visitors a unique opportunity to learn history while exploring the beautiful Sonoma Coast during their weekend getaway. For more information, please visit the Fort Ross web site: www.fortrossstatepark.org

Another Excellent TripAdvisor Review

We truly appreciate our guests’ feedback and are (of course!) pleased when it’s positive.

Below is one of our latest reviews on TripAdvisor from “jayandvic”:

My boyfriend and I stayed at Timber Cove for his birthday. Not knowing what to expect, seeing that it was our first time there, we were pleasantly surprised with the friendliness of the staff and the rooms, but most of all the scenery. If you want to getaway on a romantic quiet trip, I highly recommend Timber Cove Inn. We can’t wait to stay there again. Oh did I mention amazing?

Thank you! We look forward to welcoming you again to our Sonoma Coast hotel. Let us know when you come back–your next glass of wine is on us!
