Our Chef

Ben has been working in kitchens since he was 16, but did not really begin his true culinary training until he graduated from San Francisco’s esteemed Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in 2009. While attending culinary school, Ben opened Miss Pearls Jam House in Oakland under Executive Chef Joey Altman. Chef Altman imparted his knowledge of Carribean and Southern cuisine, elements of which can be found throughout Ben's menus.

In 2010 Ben came to Timber Cove Inn as Sous Chef. Recognizing his passion for food, Management gave him the opportunity to create new dishes still found on the menu today such as Beer Braised Baby Ribs, Ahi Coco Beche and Prosciutto Wrapped Prawns. Now as Executive Chef, Ben is leading the artistically rendered and historically significant hotel into the 21st Century.
